Yes. The Intelemage application and related infrastructure are exceptionally secure. We take multiple steps and we have made significant investments to ensure the protection of your data .

"Is a VPN connection required to share images between different facilities? "

No. The inteleGRID encrypts all traffic over port 443 (SSL), therefore no VPN is needed. All image sharing activity meets all HIPAA guidelines and standards.
